How to use Festar bolt cutter?
Method 1:
If the object to be cut cannot be placed on the ground or only one person is working then please do the following steps:
- First of all, for your own safety, please wear goggles and working gloves.
- Hold the handle tightly with both hands.
- If you want to cut accurately, you can use a marker to draw a line on the object you are cutting.
- Open the grip, slowly close it and let the blade align it with the line to be cut. Try to avoid using the top and end of the blade for cutting. The best cutting position is slightly behind middle of blade. Please note that Festar bolt cutter is a center cutting design, so it can be cut in this way. There are also different designs on the market, such as nipper. Customers should pay attention to this when using.
- If the object you are cutting is too large and you are not able to move it into the middle position or it cannot be cut, please do not use any tool to extend the handle of the bolt cutter to extend the leverage. Instead, you should use a larger bolt cutter to complete the operation.
Method 2:
If the object to be cut can be placed on the ground (another person is recommended to help) then please do the following steps:
- Place the bolt cutter on the ground, with one foot stepping on one handle and hold the other handle with both hands.
- Try to pull the handle up to open up the blade or press it down to close the blade, and confirm you won’t slip off during the operation. Please try several times to find the most comfortable and easy position.
- After confirming the position, open up the blade and have the other person take the marker to draw a line on the object you are cutting, and then slowly clamp the blade down to the object to be cut.
- After fixing the object, ask the other person to not stand nearby the object to avoid the object being shot out after being cut.
- When cutting, you can slowly press down a little at a time. Please do not sit on the grip to increase your strength. The safest way is to firmly hold the grip and slowly press down with your body weight.
- If the object you are cutting is too large and you are not able to move it into the middle position or it cannot be cut, please do not use any tool to extend the handle of the bolt cutter to extend the leverage. Instead, you should use a larger bolt cutter to complete the operation.
